JustCanals Forum Guidelines; Updated 1st November 2009

I would firstly like to thank you for wishing to join the JustCanals forum system, I am sure you will enjoy using our forums as much as all of our other members and hopefully, with the atmosphere we have created on board, find it an easy to use and friendly place; a narrowboaters heaven, as we like to call it.

The board is a friendly and free discussion based community forum where anything relating to the inland waterways of the UK and the rest of the world can be discussed with other members and we also have a �stable� area for those of you who want to make chit chat with other online boaters and wannabe boaters.

The membership on JustCanals is absolutely free and is open to EVERYONE � whether you are a boater, a kayaker, a fisherman, a walker or even if you have never seen a canal before in your life but would love to get to know a bit more about it � you are welcome here!

All we ask of you is that you abide by our forum rules, which are outlined below, so that we can ensure that everyone has a happy and fulfilling experience from our discussion board.

By joining the forum, you agree to the following rules:

Firstly, we are not responsible for any of the messages posted on the forum. We can not vouch for the accuracy, usefulness and completeness of any information which may be posted on the forum and therefore we can not be responsible for the contents of any message and the outcome of following any advice from a message.

Any posts made on the forum express the viewpoint of the poster and not the viewpoint of JustCanals or any of the site crew. Any user who feels that the posted message should not be allowed to be on the forum or needs editing should feel free to use the inbuilt 'post report' function on the forum or to Private message one of the site crew who can then deal with it.

You also agree by using our forum system that you will not knowingly post any material which is false, inaccurate, copyrighted, abusive, vulgar, harassing, sexually oriented, threatening, privacy invasive or in violation of any law. Doing so will, depending on the situation, warrant a warning, ban or deletion from the forum system and if needs be, informations such as the IP address can be passed to the relevant authority.

JustCanals forum system is moderated by members chosen by the webmaster. These are known as the �site crew� and will either have moderator or admin next to their names. They are voluntary and have been given the responsibility of enforcing the forum rules and ensuring the forum remains a friendly place for all of our users.
The reserve the right to edit, lock & remove any post that they deem necessary without any reason, although they will often try and inform the members involved of their actions. Their say is final and if there are any issues a message should be sent to Sam, the webmaster who can then look into the matter.

No advertising of products & services can be posted on the forum or sent via private messaging without permission from the webmaster or unless it is within the context of the discussion with basic information and price being allowed � however this is still subject to removal if deemed necessary.

Links to other websites on the forum are to be placed in the links directory and only allowed to be added in posts on the forum, where relevant, and in signatures IF THE MEMBER HAS BEEN ACTIVELY POSTING, therefore users can not sign up and start posting links.

We ask all of our members to keep discussions on topic and banter free so that we can encourage focused discussion in all areas of the forum � with the exception being the �stable� area where general chit chat is encouraged.

It is also important to note that all content that is on this website remains Copyright of the owners. Permission from the materials owner should be sought before reproducing any aspect of this site in any way.

Thank you for reading through our rules, which may sounds strict, but are very easy to follow and are set up to encourage a friendly atmosphere on the forum.
