Just Canals Facebook Group

Postby NB Willawaw » Thu Nov 17, 2011 11:52 pm

A Facebook group has been established for Just Canals.

The intention is that many posts will be duplicated on the two mediums, as some forum users don't use Facebook and some Facebookers don't like forums.

Due to the difference in the mediums and their flexibility, some items are easier to post in one or the other.

If you are a Facebook user, please feel free to look us up.

The JC Facebook group is a closed group, so you do need to become a member of the group, in order to see posts there.

219 members there and climbing.

Plenty of activity and posts there.

If you have Facebook or are thinking of setting up an account, it might be worth viewing JC in both places.

Facebook isn't only for teenagers, y'know !!!

I'm a facebook'er but only in a familiy group!
Coming from a large family, sometimes the only meet or have contact at funerals!
Facebook has become a great way to keep or re-establish touch with family, especially for my kids and all there cousins!
Back to facebook, I don't really know what am doing especially on my android phone!
So I will probably stay within the confines of my family group for now

Thanks
Stephen

That's great - I've never really liked Facebook up to now, mainly because it always seemed full of spotty teenagers with nothing much to say, but actually it's a very good medium and ideal for like minded people to swap ideas, links and photos on a given subject.

Get posting :cool!:

Fast approaching 250 boating members on Facebook.

Exclusive links and photographs shown on the JC Facebook Group site due to the different membership base and media differences.

Have to say that i have come out of the FB group. I find it too confusing and more difficult to follow a thread. The forum is much better suited to my pace.

To be honest Rob, of the 300 odd members, very few are conventional/traditional JC forum members.

The Facebook group has a following of its own, some of whom are CWDF members. I imagine these are people already on Facebook and who are familiar with the layout and pace.

Facebook has a slightly different focus, which might appeal to a different crowd.

The JC FB posts and topics are also completely different from those on here, although I do tend to post links for topics started on here, to give a greater audience to the website forum.

I don't have enough time or energy to post eveything twice. I find Facebook quite easy to use and rich in boating content. As we have enough site crew on here, I tend to spend more time on and around the Facebook side.

I think we just have to accept they are oil and water.
Best Regards

But as we all know, pouring oil on to our waters is an environmentally unfriendly act.

Similar aims - same forum, but posts there are in double figures already this morning (and they're not all mine).
